With International Project Management Day coming up on November 7th, we are excited to continue this blog series featuring an interview with Lori Milhaven, Executive Vice President of Strategic Projects, International Institute for Learning (IIL). As a proud sponsor of this event, we are excited to share additional insights into what attendees of the event can expect!
Here’s what you can expect from IPM Day 2024 on November 7th!
Q: If you could sum up the theme of IPM Day 2024, what would it be and why?
A: Building IPM Day involves extensive collaboration and strategic planning. We believe successful project management hinges on an essential equation: People + Purpose + Projects. Each element is indispensable for achieving optimal results. As AI continues to reshape our world, we are committed to curating content that emphasizes the enduring importance of human connection and strategic vision in project management.
Q: What sessions at the event are you most excited to attend?
A: What a great question! I am looking forward to Alan Mallory’s captivating presentation, Project High Notes. Diane Hamilton will challenge the status quo with her session on overcoming success traps and fostering a culture of curiosity. Joe Pusz will tackle a common project management pain point: addressing the root causes of poor project delivery. For a glimpse into the future of project management, I am looking forward to the interview with Pierre Le Manh, President & CEO of PMI and to watch Joti Balani and Lori Sun as they explore how generative AI is revolutionizing project workflows. Finally I am always excited to see Dr. Harold Kerzner in The Kerzner Chronicles which will be amazing!
Q: The event is live on November 7th. Why should attendees dedicate the time to attend live?
A: While attending the live day isn’t mandatory, we wholeheartedly recommend it. Even joining for a few sessions can be incredibly rewarding. Our attendees consistently rave about the energy and value of connecting with peers from around the world in real-time. We air live keynotes and their Q&A sessions with interactive chat rooms, creating a dynamic and inspiring virtual experience. Beyond professional development, the live event fosters a strong sense of community. Our team and sponsors genuinely enjoy the buzz and excitement of interacting with thousands of professionals on the live day. Plus, there’s always the thrill of potential live day prizes! Participants can watch the event during the 90-day streaming period, to February 10, 2025.
Q: What resources are available for registrants before and after the live event?
A: Early registrants receive updates on our speaker lineup and sponsor spotlights. Registered attendees gain access to exclusive content from our sponsors. Plus, participants can get a head start on enhancing their skills with two complimentary self-paced courses released a week before the event. To celebrate our 20th anniversary—for the first time ever—we are launching a unique initiative! IPM Day 2024 registrants are invited to share their favorite recipe for a chance to be featured in our IPM Day Digital Cookbook! We will select 200 recipes and will unveil them on the live day.
